# App Modules

## Overview

App Modules let you control which sections appear in your Members App navigation and who can access them. You can hide modules you don't use, make some sections visible to everyone (including visitors), or restrict certain content to active members only.

**Key Benefits:**

* Simplify your app by hiding sections you don't offer
* Create a cleaner experience for visitors by showing only relevant modules
* Restrict sensitive content (like invoices) to members with active memberships
* Use your own terminology (e.g., "Conference rooms" instead of "Offices") so the app matches how you talk about your space

***

## Accessing App Modules

1. Navigate to **Members App** in your dashboard sidebar
2. Click **App Modules** (or select it from the App Settings menu)
3. You'll see a list of all configurable modules with visibility options and custom name settings

***

## Visibility Options

For each module, you can choose one of three settings:

### Visible to All

* The module appears in the Members App navigation
* Anyone can view the content—including visitors who haven't signed up yet
* Use this for sections you want to showcase to attract new members (e.g., Events, Products)

### Visible to Active Members Only

* The module appears in the navigation for everyone
* Only members with an active or upcoming membership can view the content
* Visitors and inactive members see a message prompting them to purchase a membership
* Use this for member-only content (e.g., Invoices, Guidelines, Group Chats)

### Hidden

* The module is removed from the navigation entirely
* Members won't see it in their app menu
* Use this when you don't offer a feature (e.g., hide Offices if you don't have office rentals)

***

## Configurable Modules

You can configure visibility for these sections:

* **Guidelines** – Space rules, terms, and policies
* **Invoices** – Member billing history
* **Offices** – Office rental bookings
* **Custom Resources** – Parking, massage rooms, studios, and other bookable assets
* **Events** – Workshops and ticketed events
* **Products** – Purchasable items and amenities
* **Rooms** – Meeting room bookings
* **Group Chats** – Community chat links

The Home, Entries, and Memberships sections are always visible and cannot be hidden.

## Saving Your Changes

1. Select your preferred option for each module using the radio buttons
2. Click **Save Changes** at the bottom of the page
3. Changes take effect immediately—your members will see the updated navigation on their next visit

***

## Custom Module Names

You can give each module a custom name that your members will see in the Members App menu. This lets you use terminology that fits your space—for example, rename **Offices** to "Conference rooms" or **Rooms** to "Meeting spaces."

**As a manager, you can:**

1. Scroll to the **Custom Module Names** section on the App Modules page
2. For each module, enter a custom name in the input field (leave empty to keep the default name)
3. When you have multiple languages enabled for your Members App (configured under **App Homepage**), use the language tabs to set a different custom name per language—so members see the right label in their preferred language
4. Click **Save Custom Names** (or **Save \[Language] Names** when using multiple languages)
5. Your members will see the updated names in the app navigation on their next visit

***

## Common Scenarios

### Simplifying Your App

If you don't offer office rentals, hide the Offices module. If you don't have custom resources (parking, massage rooms, etc.), hide Custom Resources. If you don't use group chats, hide Group Chats. This keeps your app focused on what you actually offer.

### Keeping Invoices Private

Set Invoices to "Visible to Active Members Only" so only paying members can view their billing history.

### Showcasing Events to Visitors

Set Events to "Visible to All" so visitors can browse upcoming workshops before signing up—great for attracting new members.

### Using Your Own Terminology

If your space uses different terms than the defaults (e.g., you call private offices "Studios" or meeting rooms "Huddle spaces"), use Custom Module Names to match. Your members will see the labels you choose in the app menu, making the experience feel more familiar and on-brand.
